I had to drop you a quick line to let you know what an immediate difference your bike fit and pedalling tips made.
... Previously as soon as I lost concentration (about 1 min.), I would find myself out of the drops and back on top but today I found I rode the entire length of Black Road in the drops without thinking of it.

All my concentration went on thinking "heel down, pressure on the heel, lift the knee and scrape the shoe".
I was astounded to find on a bit of gradient near home where with a bit of focus I keep it around 20kmh I was doing 25.3! My heart rate was elevated in comparison but previously I would have had to get out of the saddle to get to that speed. Today I was comfortable in the legs which didn't feel close to blowing.'

Bike position influences the human body's ability to deliver power to the pedals correctly and efficiently; this leads to comfort, endurance, bike handling and speed.

The starting point is finding the right size bike. The fit process consists of three parts firstly correct cleat fit to shoes, secondly correct body fit to bike, and thirdly correct saddle fit to your butt.

Once the correct frame size is found, we fine tune the fit with with stem length, handlebar width, and suitable choice of saddle. For safety reasons, Mega Bike offers a clipless pedal training session in addition to the bike fit.

There are many benefits to improving your bike position:

  • Correct pedalling technique will be natural

  • You will experience less muscle soreness and lactic build up

Variances in body size, proportions, levels of fitness, flexibility, and age all affect a cyclist's best position on the bike. We take the time to go through each aspect to achieve the best bike fit. We then instruct you in proper pedalling technique in and out of the saddle.

Whether you ride on the road, track of fire trail, we can fit your bike to you.

Road, track and MTB fits require approximately 1 hour, triathlon fits require approximately 2. Clipless pedal tuition will add an hour to your bike fit.
